Eddy
Hey I am here too!
Bonne idée, bravo !
Good idea, after years of painful surprises and desapointments, my quest for a reliable newshosting company has ended earlier this year. it's like a dream come true. I used to have 3 or 4 days retention with my previous one... it was a nightmare. And now, with this blog, it'll be probably very interesting and maybe even useful. I live in Switzerland, and usenet is still one of the least known part of the Internet. All the best for your blog !
Jacques-Olivier, Geneva.
YAY SIXTH! LOL.
-MAYHEM.
I love Giganews I am a poster to number 7!!!

Hrm, it's still saying only 1 comment on the initial page.....working as intended!
Nice work Giganews! Interested in seeing what you'll be posting here...
yeah, nice one giganews!!! looks like the mass mail out about this blog has slowed the site a little tho :)
keep the retention and great download speeds coming!
Great GigaNews. Super service!!!
Good stuff. Maybe we'll do something like this on our site if it works out well.
I'd love to see a photo tour of the hardware giganews uses.
Great news. Can't wait to hear some of the inner-workings of giganews.

Yes - or a factsheet of what youre using :) how much, etc
I hope to see some inter-office hyjinks...perhaps a line up called, "The Ladies of Newsbin" or "Employee car of the Week". I'd like to see GN instead of a lot of text.
I agree, your service and your customer service rock.
I 2nd the photo tour idea!
yay giganews!
the best servers and customer service in the industry!
thanks guys.
Awesome. I hope the blogging works out for you. I can only imagine the tales of Giganews employees :)

Damn good service - Keep up the good work.
I'm curious does Gignews publish how large their current file storage system is?
Keep up the good work guys- I lurve my Giganews!
Nice move Giganews. I would also like to see a users forum, where we all could share ideas about how to improve our Usenet experience and our experiences with the latest utilities and apps. Giganews rocks! Keep it up!!
Cool, am i 23rd?
Love your service and your retention. Keep up the good work.
Great Day
1 year subscriber and I wouldnt change hosts for the world! YOU GUYS ARE THE FREAKING BEST!!!!!! If you are a potential customer, you wont go wrong with these guys or *I* will give you your money back! lol!
Awesome.... Giganews ROCKS!
Congratulations Giganews! I admire companies that are willing to run company blogs. It shows you guys care about your customers and are willing to interact with them in as many ways as possible.
Way to go!
Just another feature added to a service that I didn't think could get any better. Keep up the great work guys.
I'd love to visit your data center with my desktop. What I would give to be able to jack in via fiber to your network and download till all my hard drives was stuffed full of data...
Good idea: blogger.com = easy blog for every one with multi lingual interface :-)
Thanks for the quality of your service. I'm a very satisfied subscriber for a couple of years now. While the great reliability of your server was always close to 100%, the retention though a bit short in the beginning (+- 15d in binaries) is really ok now.
Thank you and continue the good job !
The world is a good place =)
*waves to all the other bloggers in friendly manner
don't tell people about usenet dammit!
Sweet, Giganews keeps on growing!
First usenet company that tries to reach the community and its users? :)
Mark another hardware viewing request. I can't imagine what your server farm looks like with the retention you guys are sporting.
Here's a quick question: to have the kind of retention you do, how many gigs of storage space does that require?
Wow, in at the start of history. Now thats really something
god bless giganews.
Great to see you joinging the blogging community, I have already added it to my bloglines.
Your servers have far out performed any of the rivals that I've tried! Keep up the great work, it'll certainly be interesting to hear some tales from your net admins, security guys, etc.. :)
This service is simply amazing, and is a steal at $25 a month. Thank you !!

Great Newsgroups site.. been using it for several years now. Thanks and please keep up the good work!
pl
Nice! Thanks for the service.
I have been a Giganews customer for over 5 years. They are wonderful, as during that time, they have provided continued improvement in retention, speed, and pricing packages. They continue to provide more value for less cost from year to year. The only problem with the unlimited plan, is that my ISP sent me a nasty letter because of the amount of "News" I was reading. Their message was all about the bandwith. I think anything over about 50 Gig a month is their trigger. Would be interested to hear what other isp's do concerning large bandwith users. Rock On ! Giganews, and thanks for the great service.
So do we get a prize for being like the first 50 or so posters :) ???
-Marbman
I use the 25gig option. Everything I need is just a click away........Thanks Giganews
Best retention and speed on internet.
10/10
:)
The best usenet service ever! I really enjoy how you keep increasing retention days and services. Giganews forver!
But... what would you folks even blog about? Apologize for every time the server goes down? Explain the missing headers? That's, like, never happened! =)
Seriously though -- I've been a customer since March 4, 2001, and I've never looked back since. You folks are amazing.
Thanks for the great service!! Keep up the good work!!
Here's another happy customer. Keep up the good work!
Good service! I use it a long time and very enjoy it.
Outstanding service, retention and completion. As long as Giganews is in business, I am a faithful customer!
Great service but a bit expensive tu use the unlimited account IMHO ;)
Whoo hoo! Giganews Rocks!
Infrequently does a company provide such a good product that there's nothing to complain about.
Retention keeps growing - speed is awesome. Server is reliable. Premo.
I'd love to see an indexing service someday with a notification option if what your looking for is posted.
Keep up the great work!
I guess I'm number 60.. this is cool.. can't wait to see what you have to say in the future.. Keep up the good work!
I would like to see an indexing of whats on the servers. Would make things a lot easier. Create a forum also.
Nice work lads, adding this service for your customers.. Personally think that Giganews is one of the best, and this will continue with initiatives like this. Succes!!
Reply for Stouty about ISPs and bandwidth - I had a problem with that and just did a search for ISPs and ended up with one that has 500Gb a month as its fair-use policy, as most of the unlimited(!) accounts seem to trigger at 100Gb and I objected to getting a nasty letter the first and only time I went over the limit! BTW this is in the UK. I've been with Giganews for over a year now and have never had any problems so am very happy with the service. Thank you Giganews.
I guess the good folks at Giganews realize what the word 'Unlimited' means.
With all the retention, I think they have a Master Plan, er, hidden agenda, to become the Inter-galactic Archivist's!
Having nothing to complain about the service, I'll make a wish for faster header retrieval.
Reply for Stouty about ISPs and bandwidth -- my ISP (Rogers.com in Canada) limits downloads to 75 GB per month.. more than I ever use or need.
They also offer a service for users to log on and check what the current month's usage is at.. it helps heavy users manage their downloads.
Your service ranks second to none---tried others but always come back to the best---thanks!!!
Yea keep up the good work, you guys rock, and think you guys will give us a behind the scences look at what kind of hardware you guys are running, im sure most of us geeks would love to see what you need to host usenet at 1mb/s plus speeds.
Does anyone have a phone number or address to contact Giganews?
Giganews only provides email based support. You can reach Giganews' support team by emailing support - at - giganews.com
Good stuff. Maybe we'll do something like this on our site if it works out well.
